car audio competitions

When compiling these rules, the SPL SHOW production by ACV and TUNING BY IBRAGIMOV team tried to make them as simple and understandable as possible, so that beginners would not experience any particular difficulties in learning before their first participation, and amateurs and professionals would maintain a sporting spirit.

The main idea of ​​the rules is to be guided by logic. It’s better not to waste time looking for loopholes, but to spend it on designing and refining the audio system. Within the limits of class restrictions, what is described in the rules is allowed.

The safety of Participants, spectators, administrators and judges is the most important condition during the competition. Each Participant must understand the following before taking part in the competition:

• A car is a source of increased danger. The Participant must guarantee the safe operation of his car for himself and others.
• Audio systems and related components can produce very high sound pressure levels, which can cause hearing damage, injury, and poor health. The participant is obliged to prevent the negative impact of the audio system on himself and others, to ensure the safety of himself and those nearby.
• All components included in the audio system, such as speakers, amplifiers, power supplies, wiring, and their mounting structures, must be securely fastened to ensure safe operation, including preventing injury or damage in the event of an accident.
• The installed electrical equipment must meet all the requirements for safe operation, the electrical wiring must be reliably protected and secured, and have fuses. To ensure fire safety, a fire extinguisher must be in the vehicle and easily accessible.

Competition organizers, administrators and Judges are not responsible for accidents, damage, injuries, or other harm to health, as well as damage to property that occurred due to the fault or as a result of incorrect actions of the Participant or other persons.

By participating in competitions, the Participant undertakes to take full responsibility for his actions and any possible accidents, injuries or damages that may arise due to his fault or as a result of his actions.

During the competition, the format management makes every effort to create a friendly atmosphere on the site, maintain a competitive spirit among the Participants, and a positive mood for the audience.

Participants must follow the instructions of the Judges and Organizers who coordinate their actions during the competition.

When taking part in competitions, the Participant must adhere to the norms of behavior in society, when in a public place, refrain from drinking alcohol, using obscene language, obscene music, etc.

In case of immoral behavior, rudeness, threats, insults in direct or indirect form towards other participants, Organizers or Judges, the Participant may be removed from the venue with subsequent disqualification, without refund of the participation fee. The same applies to behavior on social networks and other media spaces.

Equipment – ​​all components and components of the acoustic system, such as: subwoofers and their design, as well as related to them - podiums, structures, amplifiers, batteries, etc.

The location and composition of equipment is regulated by the restrictions of each category and individual classes.

The participant is allowed to use only the equipment that is installed in the car or brought as a backup. The same equipment may not be used on two or more participating vehicles.

All power sources must be located inside the vehicle; the use of external power sources during measurement is not allowed.

The use of any pneumatic, pyrotechnic or other devices is strictly prohibited. The use of small pyrotechnic elements (smoke, small fireworks) is allowed only by prior agreement with the Organization and the judges.

All equipment in the vehicle must be securely fastened.

A car is a mass-produced vehicle duly registered with the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate. The Participant's vehicle must enter the measurement area under its own power without towing. In the event of a car breakdown and no possibility of repair on the site, you must immediately notify the Judge in order to make a decision on participation and further coordination actions.

The vehicle must have an original design of external body elements (except for the “Armored Vehicle” class). Changes to the chassis and underbody are not taken into account. For classes with "Wall" design, cosmetic changes and the installation of podiums on the outside of the car in the rear behind the B-pillar are allowed.

To improve body rigidity, it is recommended to apply vibration and noise insulation materials to internal body elements.

It is allowed to use tape (painting tape, PVC, metallized, reinforced) when gluing air ducts and dashboard joints, as well as rubber glass seals inside and outside. The use of other materials for these purposes and all types of sound insulation is prohibited. Taping body openings is prohibited.

It is prohibited to use any types of holding and tightening devices to increase the rigidity of external body elements, except for the “Armored Car” class. You can attract up to five assistants to hold.

Participants who have expressed a desire to participate, who have reached the age of majority, are allowed to participate in the competition, using their own or a vehicle entrusted to them, with a valid driver’s license. Admission of a participant of minor age to participate in competitions in his own or a car entrusted to him only with the agreement of the Chief Judge and the Organizers.

First of all, when deciding to participate in competitions, you need to familiarize yourself with the rules and restrictions for classes, assess which classes a car with an audio system fits into.

To minimize unpleasant surprises, you need to check the functionality of the audio system in advance, select musical material according to the restrictions of the selected classes, prepare a supply of fuses, etc.

If this is your first time taking part in competitions, it would be a good idea to consult with experienced participants, competition organizers, or watch a video on this topic.

The basic fee for participation in competitions, with pre-registration on the website, and compliance with sticker restrictions, is: 100,000 Soums for the first class and 50,000 Soums for each subsequent selected class. Without preliminary registration: 100,000 Soums for each selected class.

If the Participant’s car contains stickers with the logo or theme of brands that are partners of the format, they can be applied to the body without restrictions.

Team members representing brands that are partners of the format are allowed to participate at Basic Fees.

Participants in branded cars representing brands, installation studios and audio equipment stores that are NOT format partners are allowed a one-time participation with mandatory prior approval from the format administration. The increased fee will be 300,000 Soums for the first class and 150,000 Soums for each subsequent selected class.

If the Participant’s car contains stickers with a logo or theme of brands that are NOT partners of the format, or with any other advertising information, they can be applied with a size limitation: 20x30 cm in an amount of no more than 2 pieces in order to qualify for the Basic Fee. If the size of the stickers exceeds the restrictions, as well as fully branded cars, participation on such a car is possible only with an Increased contribution with mandatory prior approval, or remove excess stickers from the car body. It is allowed to cover the stickers with opaque vinyl (PVC) - in order not to damage the stickers on the body, just carefully roll up the protective layer of the vinyl adhesive base and stick only around the perimeter. It is important that it looks neat. Covering with masking tape, paper, newspapers and other materials is not allowed.

Participants representing installation studios and audio equipment stores must additionally notify the administration and agree with the Format Organizer about their participation in order to participate at the Basic Fee.

It is better to discuss all controversial issues with the format administration in advance. If the rules are not followed, the Judge has the right to decide to disqualify the Participant.

Any unauthorized advertising at events is prohibited. Installation of marquees, tents, flags and other advertising structures - strictly by prior agreement!

To take part in the competition, the Participant must go through the pre-registration procedure on the website, indicating his data. Registration for upcoming stages begins 10-15 days and ends 3-4 days before the date of the stage. Submitting your entry in advance will in many cases reduce the cost of your entry fee. If for any reason the Participant cannot attend the stage for which he registered, it would be a good idea to find a way to notify the organizers about this in advance.

On the day of the competition, the Participant must arrive at the site in advance of the start of the registration confirmation procedure, in a clean car. Find the administrators (judge) and confirm registration, receive a sticker with the Participant’s number, place the car on the site and stick the number on the windshield.

After completing registration at the site, the judges inspect the Participants’ cars for compliance with the selected classes, about which a corresponding note is made in the list of participants. During the judge's inspection, there should be no personal belongings of the Participant in the car. During the inspection, the Participant must provide the Judge with complete information about the installed system in the car. If it is not possible to inspect hard-to-reach and hidden places, it is necessary to provide photo or video confirmation of the installed components. If there is no confirmation or is in doubt, the Judge may require the element or structure to be disassembled for demonstration; if the Participant refuses, the Judge may transfer him to a higher class without restrictions.

If you provide knowingly false information about the system, a deliberate attempt to hide any elements, etc., the Participant may be disqualified by decision of the Judges.

During the day, Participants present their cars and speaker systems on the site. The vehicle must be open and accessible for visual assessment.
In the morning, a “Silence Mode” is in effect on the site during the judging commission. During this time, participants may turn on or test their audio systems only at a minimum volume level, and turn it off at the first request, so as not to interfere with the work of the Judges.

After the start of the event, measurements begin and classes are announced, the Participants of which must drive up to the stage and perform within the announced class. All vehicles must enter the measurement area under their own power. We recommend preparing in advance, choosing a track and setting the settings. To prepare for the measurement near the stage, the Participant is given 2 minutes. If the start of a measurement is delayed, the Participant may receive a warning from the judge and a penalty of 1 point, which will be deducted from the final result. During measurement, the vehicle must be secured in place using a parking brake or anti-roll devices. Particular attention must be paid to the installation and removal of measuring equipment by Judges. It is prohibited to start driving without the permission of the Judge while the sensors are in the car; for this violation the Participant may be disqualified. After the performance, the Participant returns to his place on the site, carefully leaving the measurement area.

Participants should pay close attention to class announcements. If the Participant, for any reason, does not go to the measurement zone after the announcement of the class 3 times in which he was declared, the Participant will receive a technical failure instead of the result.

If the Participant’s equipment fails or breaks down before the measurement, or while it lasts, the Participant may have the opportunity to re-measure. Important: while in the measuring area, the Participant must demonstrate to the Judge the fact of an equipment failure - a non-working component, a lit “protection” indicator, a blown fuse, etc. Based on the information received, the Judges make a decision on the possibility of admission to re-measurement. In case of a positive decision and if it is necessary to troubleshoot, the Participant is given 15 minutes to solve technical problems; the car must be installed near the stage outside the measurement area and not interfere with other Participants. Repeated measurement The participant can receive only one time. If the breakdown recurs or another failure occurs, the Participant will be included in the technical breakdown. Incorrectly selected musical material, SMS or call when playing from a phone, and similar situations are not considered as grounds for re-measurement.

After completing the measurements in all classes, the Judges sum up the results and award the winners. The rule for group photography is that after the award ceremony, all winners must gather near the stage.

The most important element of the competition is the sound pressure measurements in the Participants’ cars near the stage. To record the results of the Participants, the Judges use the equipment of the SPL-LAB software and measurement complex. Measurements of the subwoofer section are carried out inside the car with the sensor installed in the “classic” place on the windshield on the passenger side - at a distance of 30 cm from the side pillar, at a height of 15 cm from the front panel. Measurements of front and rear acoustics are carried out with a microphone outside the car; the location is regulated by the rules of the selected class.

During the measurement, the participant can be inside the car or outside, using a remote head unit or remote control; the position of the Participant’s body is not regulated. In addition to the participant, up to 5 assistants (including the assistants themselves, operators, support group) can be in the measurement area, but only the participant can be in the car or near the doorway. During measurement, assistants should not interfere with another participant by blocking the monitor or by other actions. Before, during measurements, if more than 5 people are in the measurement area (with the exception of the JUDGES, HOST, OPERATOR FROM ORGANIZERS), then the defeat of this participant is automatically counted.

For the comfortable presence of spectators near the stage during measurements, the Participant is not recommended to keep the engine speed above 2500. If the engine speed exceeds 3000, the Judge may give a warning to the Participant, and in case of ignoring and repeated excess, cancel the measurement and disqualify the Participant.

The measurement process may vary depending on the time frame of the event, the number of participants, and the filling of classes. Standard version: each Participant is given one measurement to record the result, and these results will be the final ones, from which the top three winners are formed.

All measurements will be made under the conditions that: all factory door hinges, locks, trunk lid shock absorbers must be factory and working (if something does not work, from the factory fastenings and shock absorbers, the decision will be made by the chief judge).

Participants who have attended at least one stage during the year and have shown any result that will be recorded in the final table are allowed to participate in the championship finals. Failure to go for measurements or a technical meeting without a recorded result will not give you access to the finals. The participant receives admission to the final in the same class in which he participated or one class higher within the same category. To determine the champion, vice champion, bronze champion of the season, the total number of points for all stages is counted:

For each 1 stage – 1 point
For first place – 3 points
For second place – 2 points
For third place – 1 point

If a participant takes several winning places in one stage, then these victories are also added to the total number of points.

A battle is a separate competition between two or more participants, by prior agreement.

Each Participant can challenge two or more other Participants to a Battle in order to find out on an independent territory whose system is louder and better. To participate in the Battle, Participants, or their assistants, submit an application to the organizers in advance, all the conditions of the Battle and the stage at which it will take place are discussed. Participants pay a fee and receive a single measurement or a series of measurements under agreed conditions. The Organizer may introduce unexpected conditions for Participants to increase entertainment. The application can be either with the simplest system similar to SPL GAME classes, or with the loudest one, not necessarily according to the current rules, but the Participant’s systems must be similar in type! The number of Battles per stage is limited.

During the competition season, the Organizers may decide to change the number of categories and classes at some stages, and make amendments and additions within the framework of the current rules, which will be notified in advance on the official website and social networks.

Each Participant chooses his own category and class to participate. One Participant on one car can participate only in one class from the category. Maximum number of classes in which a Participant can take part in Stage-5

3 – Rear
4 – GAME Pressure
5 – Front GAME

If a Participant takes part in two different cars, he can only participate in different classes within the category.

If there are less than 3 Participants entered in a class, the Judges may cancel it at the stage by notifying the Participants on site.

The main goal of the format is to attract young athletes to car audio, as a type of technical motorsport in Russia. The format platform can be considered a starting point for starting this type of motorsport, since the rules of the format are the most loyal and allow everyone without exception to test their audio system and their skills. The professional judging panel consists of people who have been involved in car audio for many years and are titled athletes in various federations. The main goal of the judge is to comply with the rules of the format and provide competent, qualified assistance to the athlete, both in explaining the rules of the format and in providing a reasoned answer to eliminate, correct or improve the athlete's system for the future.

In this format, everyday systems mainly compete, which are divided into classes that have their own limitations both for a particular system and for different types of car bodies.

*In any controversial situations not described in the rules, the decision is made by the Format Judging Panel, directly in the measurement zone!

Official measuring instruments of the Format:

• SPL direction – SPL LAB BASS METER
• Direction Front, Rear – SPL Lab Noise meter
• ADVERTISING AND STICKERS - Participants in branded cars, with stickers and logos of brands that are NOT FORMAT partners, are allowed ONLY if these stickers are completely covered or removed. Cover with opaque masking tape, paper, newspapers, garbage bags and other OPAQUE materials.

The safety of participants, spectators and judges during the competition is the most important thing. The participant, as the owner of the vehicle and the audio system, is responsible for his own safety and that of those around him. The vehicle is a source of increased danger, therefore the participant must ensure that the operation of the vehicle does not endanger himself or others. Audio systems are capable of reproducing very high sound pressure levels, which can cause hearing damage. Never use the audio system in a way that endangers yourself or others. The competition organizers and judges are not responsible for accidents, damage or injuries that occur due to the incorrect actions of the Participant. By participating in the competition, the Participant agrees to take full responsibility for his actions and any accidents, losses or damages that may occur due to his fault. Competitors must strictly follow the instructions of the Judges and respond adequately to their comments.

1. The participant is responsible for his/her own behavior, as well as for the behavior of his/her assistants, team members and fans. If the requirements are not met, the participant may be subject to disciplinary action, including lifetime disqualification from the competition.
2. All participants and team members must behave professionally and politely. Insulting other participants, as well as the judging panel or spectators, being on the site under the influence of alcohol or other substances, creating a threat to personal and public safety, aggressive and rude behavior is strictly prohibited.
3. The participant occupies one parking space for one car, goes out for measurement according to the queue and returns to his own place (unless otherwise specified by the competition organizer). It is strictly forbidden to park a car across the road, leave it unattended in a queue and/or in any way interfere with the movement of other cars on the site. Violation of this rule is considered serious and is punishable by disqualification of the participant.
4. Participants of the Exhibit category who do not participate in SPL measurements, as well as those who wish to demonstrate the operation of their audio system, must, upon entering the site, notify the format administration for the correct placement on the site. The demonstration of the audio systems is carried out in the place specified by the judges.

SPL (Sound Pressure Level) measurement - measurement in all SPL classes takes place over 30 seconds, during which time the average value is recorded. Since the measurement takes place on the track, during the measurement the car's audio system must reproduce the entire frequency range, that is, the car must have LF/MF/HF speakers capable of reproducing the entire track band.

It is allowed to use tracks with superimposed sine, but the frequency is limited to 45 Hz, that is, it is forbidden to use a higher frequency.

Mandatory: during the measurement for the SPL Limit, SPL 5K, SPL 10K, Trunk-Unlimited classes - one element, a door, a window (two doors are possible) must be fully open, that is, if it is a window, it must be lowered fully throughout the measurement! Elements such as a window, present in some models, are not considered a door or window!

In the classes above, one driver's door must be open!

No more than 6 people can park a car in any of its zones.

In order to avoid emergency situations such as car overheating, cooling pipes breaking off, car rolling around the measurement area, etc., in order not to cause harm to spectators, participants and judges, during the measurement, engine speed should not exceed 2500 rpm. In case of violation of this requirement, in case of injury to someone, responsibility falls on the participant! And the administration of the format has the right to remove the participant from the competition with subsequent cancellation of the results!

Each SPL class has certain restrictions, and some classes also have general restrictions on cabin elements and system layout. Below is a detailed description of the classes and their restrictions.

SPL LIMIT

A class with a limited budget of 45 thousand rubles, the budget is limited only to the bass link, that is - a subwoofer + amplifier (monoblock). The recommended retail price on the day of the competition is taken into account, if the components are no longer in production and are not available for sale, the RRP of a similar model is taken into account for the assessment (budget and clearance limits may be changed during the season based on changes in the market value of components in one direction or another!).

Power supply - Battery in the standard place no more than 75 Ah. Batteries of the type Lithium, Titanate, Manganate, etc. - PROHIBITED! AGM - Allowed! Voltage no more than 15 volts!

Interior - all interior elements, from the trunk to the panel, provided by the manufacturer, must be in their regular places! (*except for small parts, description below).

In hatchback cars, the absence of a rear shelf is permitted. The backrests of the rear seats must be fixed in the standard position.

In cars with a sedan body, the rear shelf must be fixed in its regular place, but it is allowed to fold the backs of the rear seats.

The equipment must not go beyond the trunk area, while maintaining the glazing! Visible sound and vibration insulation in the passenger compartment and trunk is prohibited!

SPL 5K

The main limitation of the class is an amplifier no more than 5000W (manufacturer's declared power is 1 Ohm). No area limitation.

Voltage limitation no higher than 16 volts.

Interior - all interior elements, from the trunk to the panel, provided by the manufacturer, must be in their regular places! (*except for small parts, description below).

In hatchback cars, the absence of a rear shelf is permitted. The backrests of the rear seats must be fixed in the standard position.

In cars with a sedan body, the rear shelf must be fixed in its regular place, but it is allowed to fold the backs of the rear seats.

The equipment must not extend out of the trunk area along the backs of the rear seats (if the seat is adjustable for reach and tilt, it must be fixed in the standard fasteners in the extreme position).

The height limitation for the box is no higher than 18 cm from the glazing!

SPL 10K

The main limitation of the class is an amplifier no more than 10,000 W (the manufacturer's declared power is 1 Ohm). There is no limitation on the area of ​​the subwoofers.

Power supply - 1 generator in a regular place! The battery has no restrictions. Voltage limitation is not higher than 16 volts.

Interior - all interior elements, from the trunk to the panel, provided by the manufacturer, must be in their regular places! (*except for small parts, description below).

In hatchback cars, the absence of a rear shelf is permitted. The backrests of the rear seats must be fixed in the standard position.

In cars with a sedan body, the rear shelf must be fixed in its regular place, but it is allowed to fold the backs of the rear seats.

The equipment must not extend out of the trunk area along the backs of the rear seats (if the seat is adjustable for reach and tilt, it must be fixed in the standard fasteners in the extreme position).

The height limit for the box is no higher than 18 cm from the glazing!

Trunk-Unlimited

There is no limitation on the area of ​​subwoofers.

Power supply - the battery has no limitations. Voltage limitation is no higher than 16 volts.

Interior - all interior elements, from the trunk to the panel, provided by the manufacturer, must be in their regular places! (*except for small parts, description below).

In hatchback cars, the absence of a rear shelf is permitted. The backrests of the rear seats must be fixed in the standard position.

In cars with a sedan body, the rear shelf must be fixed in a regular place, but it is allowed to fold the backs of the rear seats. All equipment must be in the luggage compartment, it is allowed to mount the amplifiers on the back of the seat. During the measurement, the back can be folded back or removed from the mounts, but not removed from the car interior!

The equipment should not extend out of the trunk area along the backs of the rear seats (if the seat is adjustable for reach and tilt, it should be fixed in the standard fasteners of the extreme position. If the car is equipped with three rows of seats, where the third row is located outside the rear doors, then this row may be missing).

The height limit for the box is no higher than 18 cm from the glazing!

General restrictions for classes SPL Limit, SPL 5K, SPL 10K, Bagazhnik-Bezlimit

Bridging is permitted, but the total application of 2 amplifiers must not exceed the class limit.

• Voltage must not exceed 16 volts.
• Spacers and body reinforcements are prohibited!
• Car windows must be of standard thickness! Front amplifiers can be located under seats and false panels.
• Strengthening the car structure is permitted only by means of noise and vibration insulation! Pasting, welding and other introduction of additional metal into the car structure in order to increase rigidity, as well as reinforcement with resin (except for door panels) is PROHIBITED!
• Body modification is prohibited!
• Visible noise and vibration insulation in the cabin is prohibited!

Door cards.

Door cards that have been modified to increase the overall volume of the system must be built on the basis of the original door cards, i.e. plywood base is prohibited!

Cars that do not have a solid base for door cards like VAZ 2101-07, Fiat Panda, etc., can use a base made of plywood or fiberglass, but the thickness of the base must not exceed 10 mm. The height of the card made must not cover more than 40% of the glazing!

WITHOUT WALLS (Coffin)

Class for systems extending beyond the trunk to the middle pillar of the car. There are no restrictions on the area of ​​the subwoofers. The design height is limited to 32 cm from the top of the box to the ceiling (the top point is considered to be the part of the box, such a point includes the box structure, tie rods, etc.).

It is allowed to install subwoofers with their motors facing outwards!

The design must not extend beyond the middle pillar and pass the wall test!

Power supply - unlimited! Voltage - no more than 16 volts.

Interior - all interior elements, from the middle pillar to the panel, provided by the manufacturer, must be in their regular places! (*except for small parts, description below). The ceiling and plastic trim above the glazing must be in place.

Spacers are not allowed in this class!

Strengthening of the car structure is allowed only by means of noise and vibration insulation! Pasting, welding and other introduction of additional metal into the car structure in order to increase rigidity is PROHIBITED! The use of resin is possible only in the design or its inseparable parts, which are a continuation of the musical design. Tightening of any doors and elements of the car during measurement is Prohibited!

WALL

The design must not extend beyond the middle pillar and pass the wall test!

Power supply - unlimited! Voltage - no more than 16 volts.

Interior - all interior elements, from the middle pillar to the panel, provided by the manufacturer, must be in their regular places! (*except for small parts, description below). Armor elements are PROHIBITED!!! Reinforcement of the windshield is prohibited. Replacement with duplicates of regular thickness only.

The seats must be stock, therefore have headrests, if provided by the manufacturer. Headrests can be removed for the duration of the measurement, but remain in the car.

Spacers are allowed, the spacer design must have a bolted connection, the spacer platform can be welded to the body, but its base cannot exceed the size of 10x10 cm, and its pipe area is no more than 3 inches, also the lower mount of the spacer must not go beyond the B-pillar, that is, the location of the lower mount of the spacer must not interfere with the wall test! Strengthening the car structure is permitted only by means of noise and vibration insulation! Pasting, welding and other introductions of additional metal into the car structure in order to increase rigidity, as well as reinforcement with resin (except for door panels) is PROHIBITED!

For the Wall class, the absence of seat belts is not allowed.

General restrictions for classes Without Walls and Wall

Interior - all interior elements, from the middle pillar to the panel, as provided by the manufacturer, must be in their regular places! (*except for small parts, description below).

Spacers are permitted in the Wall class, the spacer design must have a bolted connection to the body (i.e. the base for attaching the spacer can be welded, but the spacer itself must be attached with a bolted connection)! Also, the lower strut mount should not extend beyond the B pillar, i.e., the location of the lower strut mount should not interfere with the wall test! Strengthening the car structure is permitted only by means of noise and vibration insulation! Gluing, welding and other introduction of additional metal into the car structure in order to increase rigidity, as well as reinforcement with resin (except for door panels) is PROHIBITED!

Voltage - no more than 16 volts.

Important - visible noise and vibration insulation in the front part of the car is prohibited!

Door cards.

Door cards that have been modified to increase the overall volume of the system must be built on the basis of the original door cards, i.e. plywood base is prohibited! Cars that do not have a solid base for door cards like VAZ 2101-07, Fiat Panda, etc. can use a base made of plywood or fiberglass, but the thickness of the base must not exceed 10 mm. The height of the card made must not exceed the glazing border by more than 40%!

Extreme

Class without limits!

This class includes all cars that do not meet the class rules!

*Also, the rear-view mirror may be missing from its mounting location, but must be in the car.

!IMPORTANT! - Re-measurement is possible only in case of a technical malfunction! You have 5 minutes to fix the malfunction without leaving the measurement area!

*Wall test - a tensioned element (thread, rope or tape measure) on the B posts in the doorway should pass freely and without obstacles from the top to the bottom of the opening. If the spacer goes beyond the B post, the wall test will not be passed!

All competitors are allowed to participate in this class.

The main objective of the class is to identify the car with the loudest front acoustics. The measuring device is USB NOISE METER PRO. Measurement mode is RTA, peak amplitude, 1/6 octave, frequency range from 100 Hz to 20 kHz. The device is installed at a distance of 1 meter from the most protruding element of the acoustic design of the door. It should be directed parallel to the central axis line, at a distance of 40 cm from the car, at a height of 0.5 to 1 meter from the ground (increment of 1 cm), at the participant's discretion. The sensor is directed towards the door. The measurement is carried out on a track randomly selected on the site before the event. The musical material will be available on flash drives and published on the VKontakte page on the day of the event.

The competition format includes 4 classes:

1. Front 2/1
2. Front 4/3
3. Front 8/6
4. Front Unlimited (No speaker quantity limit)

Basic requirements for classes 2/1, 4/3 and 8/6:

• Door cards that have been modified to increase overall volume must be symmetrical (in terms of speaker placement) and represent complete installations for the selected class.
• Unscrewing, gluing, disconnecting and other manipulations with speakers for the purpose of passing to the junior class are PROHIBITED!
• Manipulations with unscrewing and plugging holes for speakers will be regarded as a violation of the rules of a complete installation and will lead to transfer to the FRONT class without restrictions.

Measuring process:

The measurement is made on one open door (at the participant's choice), all other doors and windows must be tightly closed during the measurement. The division into classes is carried out depending on the number and size of the LF and MF speakers:

1. Front 2/1 — 2 x 16 cm speakers or 1 x 20 cm speaker
2. Front 4/3 — 4 x 16 cm speakers or 3 x 20 cm speakers
3. Front 8/6 — 8 x 16 cm speakers or 6 x 20 cm speakers
4. Unlimited Front - unlimited number and placement of speakers (symmetrical front door trims are not required in this class)

Notes:

• Driver is considered as 1 unit - 16 cm.
• HF of any type is not taken into account in calculations.

Rear

Rear is a format of car audio competitions designed to determine the loudest cars with rear systems. The measurement is carried out outside the car with a microphone, which is installed at a distance of 2 meters from the most protruding point of the car, at a height of 0.5 to 1.5 meters from the ground with a step of 1 cm (at the participant's discretion). In this case, the front must be turned off.

No one other than the participant operating the system is allowed within 2 meters of the measurement microphone.

Important: This format does not take into account the type of car, the number of subwoofers, batteries, amplifiers and other components. The car restriction is only for the Rear Trunk class, in this class commercial vehicles are prohibited, such as: buses, minivans, pickups, etc.

Division into classes:

• Rear trunk
• Rear street

Rear trunk

All equipment must be installed in the rear of the vehicle so that it is either a full installation or the equipment being measured is part of the vehicle (the system must have a retractable mechanism or be fully related to the trunk area). All equipment must be firmly secured in the open trunk area.

Any participant during judging, at the request of the judge, must provide his equipment in the so-called “measured position” without the use of outside forces and tools.

Rear street

In this class there are no restrictions on the installation of equipment and the number of components.

SPL Battle category - the measurement in SPL Battle classes takes place over 3 minutes, during which the average value is recorded. Since the measurement takes place on the track, during the measurement the car's audio system must reproduce the entire frequency range, i.e. the car must have LF/MF/HF speakers capable of reproducing the entire track band.

It is allowed to use tracks with superimposed sine, but the frequency is limited to 50 Hz, that is, it is forbidden to use a higher frequency!

Required: during the measurement for the BATTLE TRUNK and BATTLE ABSOLUTE classes, one element, a door, a window (two doors are possible) must be fully open, i.e. if it is a window, it must be fully lowered throughout the measurement! Elements such as a transom, present in some models, are not considered a door or window!

An unlimited number of people can hold the car during the measurement.

To avoid emergency situations such as car overheating, cooling pipes breaking off, car rolling around the measurement area, etc., in order not to cause harm to spectators, participants and judges during the measurement, engine speed should not exceed 2500 rpm. In case of violation of this requirement, in case of injury to someone, responsibility falls on the participant! And the administration of the format has the right to remove the participant from the competition with subsequent cancellation of the results!

Battle Trunk class - this class can be used by cars of the following classes: SPL Limit, SPL 5K, SPL 10K, Trunk-Unlimited, which must have passed the judging qualification. This class will be active only if more than 3 participants are registered.

Battle Absolute class – this class can be used by cars of the classes WITHOUT WALLS (Coffin), Wall, Extreme, which must have passed the judging qualification. This class will be active only if more than 3 participants are registered.

*The format administration reserves the right to change, replace or expand the Front and Rear classes during the season!

Format participant

Each participant of the format must understand and realize that the use of a loud and powerful audio system can be dangerous, not only for the participant, but also for the people around him. Each participant of the format must demonstrate appropriate behavior on the site, as well as his companions! The administration of the format is against immoral and inadequate behavior! Every SPL-er must show others that car audio is not just a hobby of underage geniuses, but a full-fledged type of technical motorsport, in which adults, serious and balanced people compete, thereby proving that this sport is worth being interested in and doing!

And, of course, respect the SPL code:

• I will never use my system in a way that causes inconvenience to others.
• I will never use my system in a way that could cause injury.
• I will do everything possible to ensure that SPL competitions are viewed positively as a sport.
• When participating in competitions, I will conduct myself in a professional manner.
